The Queensland State Government is tracking a dangerous path here !

They believe that the key to higher poll numbers is being seen-to-be “tough on Covid“, as opposed to actually governing effectively. As they lack the ability for the latter, it is all about the optics of how they respond to Covid. Going for appearance rather than substance is nothing new. However, the problem in this instance is their “tough on covid” actions are just a nonsense. They take away our personal freedoms, while doing nothing about Covid. And, reality-check, Covid has always been at near-zero levels anyway…

This letter was sent to all staff in state government’s Department of Education. In typical jack-boot style, the announcement is broad-ranging and even applies to “contractors, volunteers, regulators, and auditors“, not just employees of the state government.
